Maryborough City Whistlestop is a museum of Railway Heritage items which reflects the local history and long term connections between the city and the railway.

Sited in the old (1882) railway station building, it is manned by volunteers who also operate the Mary Ann Logging locomotive on Thursday mornings and the LAST Sunday each month, on the QR track which runs through Queens Park and along the bank of the Mary River.

Whistlestop now has the care of steam loco 299 which was the first steam locomotive of the B15 class built in Maryborough for the Queensland Government in 1897. The hopes are to preserve 299 in the short term, and hopefully in the long term, complete the restoration which was started by MELSA members in the late 1980’s.
