MELSA’s new “Jumbuck” electric loco had it’s first public run today and ran faultlessly for about 3 1/2 hours helping to haul some 400 passengers for the day. The loco was purchased recently with funding from the Queensland Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
July 2nd 2016 – MELSA ran the miniature trains as part of the Mary Poppins Festival. Early to set up, we were ready in plenty of time for the 10am start. People came in a steady stream all day and by the end, we had carried over 1000 passengers.
Locos taking part were MELSA’s new Jumbuck (see above), an AC16 Steam loco, a Class 44 “Diesel”, a C17 Steam loco, and a Class 442 “Diesel”.
All this and election day too!
